gentle color, delicate painting of lovely features, crisp
modeling of very sweet face with innocent expression. There are
some very minor wig pulls to the back of the head near incised
mark (see photo), The original body in good condition with an
excellent repaint and re-varnish. A very pretty big girl. Her
originality makes her quite desirable! She is sure to please!!!! |

CONDITION: Excellent! This adorable head is in fine
condition with fine quality pale bisque, pleasant coloring,
expert painting of features, crisp modeling of very sweet
face with lovely brown eyes with distinct pupils. The
original body is in very good condition with original finish
and all fingers intact. Well, if you cant afford a real
Bleuette, why not get her slightly bigger sister ? |

Begner Two Faced Black and White Doll |

Bisque swivel flange head (one side being white and he
other side being ebony with black features) on a cloth
and composition body with composition bonnet, shoulder
plate, composition arms with straight wrists and lower
legs, torso and upper legs of cloth with torso having
cardboard interior. Black mohair wig in short stubby
braids and parted in the middle attached to upper
bonnet. When the face is manually rotated one of two
different faces is revealed. A smiling white face with
open closed mouth and molded teeth, brown paperweight
eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, multi stroke
brown brows and dimpled chin. The black face with ethnic
features is fired ebony bisque with open mouth having
larger rose colored lips and inserted teeth, brown
paperweight eyes, black painted brows. Dressed in her
original antique black and white checked dress with lace
trimmed slip and pantaloons, pretty faded red straw
bonnet with flower, sewn on original black moccasins. |

and delicate decoration of features, lovely coloring, crisp
modeling. Very minor rubs to the chin and cheeks on the black
face. A wonderful example of this unique and very rare two faced
black and white doll dating circa 1895! |

wood body with typical Kestner numerical markings. Blue
sleep eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, molded
multi stroke brows, open mouth with four upper teeth,
dimpled chin, blond mohair wig over original plaster
pate plus her original short brown mohair wig. Dressed
in her lovely original antique white cotton dress with
lace and embroidery trim, pink silk sash, original
antique underwear including eyelet slip, original black
socks and original black cloth shoes with metal buckle
(one buckle is missing), ecru crocheted hat with pink
ribbons. |

watery blue eyes. A couple of teeny rubs at the left brow. The
original Kestner body in fine, shiny original condition. A

English Poured Wax All Original Fashion Lady |

Here is a rare English Wax Lady doll that is all
original! She has a wax shoulder head on a stuffed cloth
body with molded wax lower arms and molded wax lower
legs. Gorgeous cornflower blue paperweight eyes, multi
stroke painted brows, closed mouth, original inset blond
mohair wig done up in four strand plaits curled around
her head. Dressed in her extraordinary original fashion
ensemble consisting of a wonderful teal blue silk two
piece dress with lace overlay tailored long top over a
matching teal blue skirt with double row of self
pleating at the hem, edged with pleated ecru lace, long
train at the back, teal silk bow accents, antique blue
velvet and silk ribbon fashion hat, , original cotton
antique undergarments, antique blue silk shoes with MOP
buttons, antique pearl and tassel pin on her dress.

CONDITION: EXCELLENT. This lovely lady is just wonderful! The
wax on the head is generally free of scratches and the modeling
is still crisp. There is a minor texturing to the surface which
may be original and some typical dust around the creases of the
features. There appears to be no repainting of the features.
There is some discoloration on the back of the shoulderplate
from the dress. The body appears in good condition but could not
be examined due to the antique silk gown being so close-fitting
that it could not be removed for fear of causing damage to it.
There is one thumb missing and the other thumb appears to be
repaired. The original gown has only minor wear and melting but
is in overall great condition for its age. She represents a
period in the history of doll making that is not often
encountered! An extraordinary example from the height of English
wax doll artistry. If you only get one wax doll for your
collection, this should be the one!! |
